A Stunning Step-Cut Fancy Intense Pink Diamond Sold at Sotheby's
A Fancy intense pink diamond stole the show at Sotheby's "Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels Sale" on Wednesday 16th of November 2016 in Geneva.
A step-cut Fancy intense pink, 17.07-carat, VVS1-clarity diamond mounted in a ring between two triangular white diamonds was sold for $20.8 million, or $1.2 million per carat.

A similar ring, but with a smaller pink diamond was auctionned at Sotheby's Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite in Hong Kong in 2011. It was a 9.27 ct Fancy vivid pink emerald-cut diamond VVS1 set in a platinum and 18-karat pink gold ring, flanked on each side by a trapeze-shaped diamond together weighing approximately 1.60 carats.
